If you are reading this please post back. I`ve never done rejection well!

Yesterday was my birthday. One of those milestone birthdays where I risk becoming invisible to the rest of society. I refuse to let this happen, so I had a few choices. I could get a tattoo, a piercing, dye my hair purple or try my hand at blogging.
I have never kept a diary in my life and I thought this would be a way of at least sharing some of my irritations at modern living which, without me really noticing, have pervaded my daily existence.

Although I live in Northern Ireland, I believe the things that make me grumpy are universal. That`s not to say they are popular or are shared by everyone my age. Indeed some of my friends disagree profoundly with my opinions all of which I believe to be facts. However, I am certain that somewhere out there in the blogoshere, I will find kinship.

My main grump at the moment is the freezing weather which I heard some pseudo academic on the radio blame on climate change. I can only assume that if we were having an exceptionally mild winter, he would be dancing round the room singing "I told you so". It seems we cannot win with these scare mongers. The BBC is obsessed with this topic and presenting with a religious zeal worthy of the Spanish Inquisition.
We hear of a huge body of scientists who say it`s all cobblers. When are they going to get some airtime?
