Middle Lane Cruisers

Middle Lane Cruisers, or MLC's for short, should be shot. Preferably with a shotgun, but any type of shooting device is acceptable. For those people not familiar with the term, let me explain.

Upon driving down a motorway, i frequently encounter numerous people who are unable to drive a motor car. Furthermore, they seem to have employed a complete disregard for the rules of motorway driving. How on earth they even managed to pass their driving test is anyone's guess, and it's about time each man or woman who bring shame upon our driving community, be physically removed, preferably from England itself i mean, but if not, the road would suffice.

MLC's are those drivers who glue themselves to the middle-lane of the motorway and refuse to use the inside-lane even when it's empty. Such behaviour is down to pure laziness and complete ignorance of the highway code. I know this because whenever MLC's are questioned about their moronic behaviour, they tend to answer with a shrug of the shoulders and look of pure idiocy on their faces. In fact, of the MLC's that i've questioned, most don't even refer to the 'inside-lane' as the 'inside-lane', and instead prefer to call it the slow-lane. I suppose this lane would therefore be used for going slow in, hence the reason for the big square things with 18 wheels that we have in abundace called "lorries". Based on this analogy, this gives MLC's the divine right to hog the middle-lane thus causing a back log of cars a mile long who are currently funneling into the outside lane in order to pass them.

The RAC recently released a report stating that 400 miles of perfectly good motorway is wasted by the MLC's who roam amongst us (For the record, the term "perfectly good motorway" is open to suggestion, but for the argument i tend to think this term is appropriate). Does this mean that maybe Mr Blair ought to be removing MLC's from our road network, as opposed to building mile after mile of new road? Perhaps it's something they should be considering.

Like i said, if we all carried a shotgun each, i'm sure that letting a few rounds off as we drive past an MLC would certainly change their behaviour during future journeys. But then again, i'd probably get arrested for undue care and attention. Pity.
